Martin Luther King Day marks the 2-year anniversary of Hood Tours! As you may know, Hood Tours is a social enterprise that highlights the past, present, and future of African Americans in Asheville while providing opportunities for young people and helping to spark more grassroots economic development in these resilient communities.
In February, to celebrate Black History Month, we will be offering weekly Hood Tours specifically for people who live in the historically African American neighborhoods we visit on the tours, as well as black business owners featured in our Green Book. To make this possible, we are inviting you to sponsor tickets for our Black History Month tours.
Tickets are $30 each. To make an online donation to sponsor tickets, click here or the Donate button below and select Hood Huggers International under the “Designation” dropdown.
You can also write a check out to Buncombe County Service Foundation, specify Hood Huggers in the designation, and mail it to 200 College Street, Suite 300, Asheville, NC 28801.
The Buncombe County Service Foundation is serving as a fiscal agent for DeWayne Barton’s work with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Culture of Health Leaders, allowing your donation to be tax deductible.
